PDS Tech Inc Application Engineer-Mill Improvements in Appleton, Wisconsin

Perform paper machine application engineering to develop technical solutions and proposals for meeting customers’ needs. Provide support to Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Project Management and Field Service to facilitate successful execution and delivery of sold projects.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare proposals (price indications, quotations, specifications, and layout drawings) to meet customer needs. Adhere to proposal guidelines, models, and standards.

  • Analyze customer needs and use application engineering to develop appropriate technical process solutions and delivery scopes.

  • Estimate costs from models, reference projects, and sub supplier quotations. Prepare costing and recommended pricing. Help maintain costing and pricing procedures. Review project costs to analyze variances from estimates to help develop corrective actions.

  • Make proposal layout drawings.

  • Prepare as-sold project documentation for use by Engineering, Project Management, Procurement and Finance.

  • Work in concert with business line, sales, product group, engineering, and project management personnel.

  • Interact professionally with customers, consultants, and sub suppliers.

  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of technical sales information.

Internal and external interfaces

  • Works closely with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Project Management and Field Service.

  • Works with the customer and consultants as needed.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Paper Science, or equivalent experience in paper mill operations or technical support, or paper machinery applications engineering.

Skilled use of software and technical systems needed to do the job (e.g., Notes, RoadRunner, CoMPass, Office, BaaN, Epics, AutoCad, Catia, etc.).
