PDS Tech Inc Customer Service and Parts Sales Coordinator in Appleton, Wisconsin
This position is responsible for selling machine parts and auxiliary machinery to new and existing customers, generating parts and machine quotations, handling customer inquiries, and working with technical team members in the field. This position also provides technical support to customers, to meet their expectations and maintain positive relationships. This position is also responsible for the administration of the Return Goods Policy and Procedure.
Responds to customer service calls regarding equipment, operational problems, trouble-shooting and part identification. When necessary, relays information and directs customers and potential customers to find the information they need.
Creates parts quotes for both manufactured and purchased parts, as well as auxiliary machinery. Ensures that quotes are prepared accurately and efficiently for timely presentation to the customers.
Proactively contacts all customers on customer calling list, at least once a month, to check on the status of equipment at their facilities and offer assistance with any problems.
Periodically visits customer plants to maintain and improve customer relations.
Sells and processes parts orders and auxiliary machine orders, retrofit kits and service contracts.
Establishes manufactured and purchased parts quotes accurately and efficiently for presentation to the customer.
Enters and maintains purchased and manufactured parts pricing in computer system.
Initiates credit memos to ensure customers receive proper credit, when applicable.
Prepares monthly customer mailers, and sends them to all customers in database. Responsible for maintaining an accurate, up-to-date customer database.
Responsible for administration of the Return Goods Procedure which involves issuing RGAs to customers, initiating the proper paperwork, and returning items to suppliers for repair or replacement.
Acts as an agent for external manufacturers by supplying units, parts and services. This involves price quotes, placing purchase orders and ensuring orders from the vendor are received and examined before re-shipment to customers.
Responsible for machinery set-up at trade shows. Assists with the operation of equipment during the duration of the show, and meets with customers and potential customers.
An Associate's Degree in business or equivalent experience/training, plus two or more years of experience in technical sales. A technical background, both mechanical and electrical, along with the ability to read engineering drawings, is preferred. Requires attention to detail, accuracy, a high energy level and superior communication skills, both oral and written. Must be able to work under stressful conditions with frequent interruptions. Knowledge of computerized order entry systems and database programs required. Must have a working knowledge of an integrated manufacturing system. Additionally, training in a second language (preferably Spanish) would be beneficial.
