GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS:

This position provides assistance and support to the Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production Planning functions. Position manages existing data while ensuring accurate and timely loading of bills of material and parts data into business system (Epicor); processes "Quick Jobs", floor stock maintenance, and monthly metrics. Position is responsible for the administration of the ECO Process Site and procedures. Position supports workflow functions by moving among various assignments as needed. Work may be performed in an office setting and/or in the manufacturing area as needed.

ESSENTI AL DUTIES:

  1. Interfaces with Engineering, Purchasing, and other Manufacturing Engineering resources to collaboratively ensure data accuracy. Manages part descriptions in all systems to adhere to company standard naming policies. Reviews engineering drawings for consistency and accuracy.

  2. Sets up parts and Bill of Materials (BOM) detail in the business system (Epicor) manually and/or using data import tools.

  3. Serves as owner of Engineering Change Order (ECO) process and template

  4. Acts as Site Owner of ECO Process Site on (SharePoint).

  5. Maintains a firm understanding of each department's requirements in the ECO process and leads undertaking to continually improve process across departments.

  6. Uses VBScript, SQL and advanced Microsoft Excel proficiencies to update ECO template to coincide with process changes.

  7. Reviews Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) for accuracy and comprehension downstream in workflow.

  8. ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Continued):

  9. Maintains a broad knowledge base of business system processes and standards to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). Coordinates with other SMEs to verify and troubleshoot changes in the business system. Creates and/or updates procedures / End User Processes (EUPs) as needed.

  10. Audits business systems for data anomalies, identifies root causes, and devises solutions. Works with IT to correct anomalies through reports and import functions (DMT), and modifies processes as needed to prevent reoccurrences.

  11. Sets up and serves as main contact for floor stock (vendor-managed and company managed). Works with Engineering, Purchasing, Assembly, and Vendors to identify and categorize floor stock parts.

  12. Responsible for setting up and maintaining manufactures / suppliers, processing part costs, calculating manufacturing lead times, etc.

  13. Supports make-or-buy decisions by generating Request For Quotes (RFQs).

  14. Assists Manufacturing Engineering by creating "Quick Jobs", including creating demand, creating a job, getting details form parts, updating routings, job scheduling, printing the job traveler and delivering the job traveler to operation work station.

OUALIFICATIONS REOUIRED:

An Associate degree or equivalent experience working with MRP/ERP is required. Position requires Microsoft Excel proficiency in macros, pivot tables, VBScript, and SQL. Must have working knowledge of an integrated manufacturing system and be capable of reading engineering drawings. Position requires excellent organization and communication skills, an aptitude for dealing well with people, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability. Position requires strong attention to detail. Must be highly reliable and work with minimal supervision. Must be a good organizer and decision-maker. Must be able to think creatively and innovatively. Flexibility and team skills are required. Previous manufacturing engineering experience preferred. Mechanical and electrical aptitude is a plus. Working knowledge or experience with engineering procedures is helpful.
