PDS Tech Inc Contingent Project Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Contingent Project Coordinator, in Atlanta, GA.

Requires at least introductory/basic PM knowledge, skill & experience. Additional skills needed: communication, time mgmt., organizational skills & attention to detail

Operates in coordination with, & takes direction from both the Project Lead/Project Manager. He/she takes direction & supports the Project Manager/Project Lead to ensure:

  • All project activities/outputs align with strategic objectives, deliverables, schedules, business case & expectations set with Sponsor & the client's senior leadership

  • All project documentation is organized, managed & properly distributed (i.e. project plans, etc)

This position will work with Project Manager/Project Lead for planning, updates & status reviews with Sponsors. He/she needs to understand & apply the client's PM principles, guidelines & standards. Travel may be required as needed.

Job Description:

  • Assists Project Manager/Project Lead to Ensure Project Output Meets Program Expectations ( 25% of time)

  • Facilitates all Project Planning & Execution of PM Activities ( 15% of time)

  • Utilizes Defined PM Processes & Tools Appropriate for Projects ( 60% of time)

  • Assists the Project Manager/Project Lead in the mgmt. of project lifecycles, including project scope, schedule, initiation, start-up/design, building/deployment of projects from beginning to end

  • Assists the Project Manager/Project Lead in the PM artifacts & proper use throughout project such as:

-Project Charter

-Project Plan

-RACI

-Risk/Issue identification & mitigation

-Status report dev./updates appropriate PM artifacts, as needed

  • Assists Project Manager/Project Lead with documenting/reviewing deliverables to ensure quality

  • Assists Project Manager/Project Lead with PM activities related to scope, funding, cost plans, planned vs. actual expense, etc

  • Must have knowledge of PM discipline with emphasis on effective use of PM soft skills essential to his/her success

  • Assists Project Manager/Project Lead with communications, scheduling meetings, conference rooms, WebEx, etc

  • Assists Project Manager/Project Lead with providing internal/external customers & stakeholders thorough responses to problem resolution

Skills/Education/Experience:

  • Communicate processes to customers trained on process changes/enhancements

  • Dev/monitor process metrics to gauge health of a proj & identify process improvement opportunities

  • Observe a process & gather feedback/concerns from others for process improvement opportunities

  • Experience applying Stakeholder/Comm Mgmt. principles including governing bodies/ Owners/Sponsors/key senior stakeholders/Project Lead/team/SME's

  • Able to plan weeks in advance to plan efforts & manage multiple projs

  • Able to work full time (40 hours per week with potential to work overtime if necessary); must be flexible to work occasional weekends, holidays & possible overnight stays depending on the assignment, as needed.

  • Experience/expertise with Commercial PM Software (i.e. MS Project/Office, etc) & the ability to learn UPS Projects Website & other tools

  • Experience with web-based remote meeting applications (i.e. Skype, Zoom, WebEx, etc)

  • Willing to travel by plane or driving personal vehicle or rental car. [Note: mileage, airfare, rental car will be reimbursed]

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or int’l comparable degree)

  • 3 years of PM experience

  • 6 years as a proj team member

  • Experience using MS Office including MS Project/SharePoint

  • Willing to travel by plane or drive personal vehicle/rental car

  • PM Certifications: PMI PMP, Agile, LEAN Certified/Six Sigma, etc
