PDS Tech Inc Production Planner in Beloit, Wisconsin

The person in this position strives to provide highest level of customer service by organizing project information and parts in order to have them ready when needed in order to maintain project schedules. He or she will issue daily shop work schedules, and management reports concerning performance to the schedules. He or she will also review, modify and release shop routings, purchase authorizations in the system, and build the shop routing binders.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists the Production Manager with maintaining the schedule for all production orders.

  • Works with operating systems for project scheduling, return cost monitoring and reporting.

  • Works with production supervisors and purchasing gathering needed estimating for project hours, pricing along with receiving of and organizing parts to ensure the achievement of schedules and customer delivery expectations.

  • Reviews shop routing and estimated hours with production to ensure correct input is entered into the system prior to release.

  • Keeps customers and/or customer service informed on status of their orders, expedites critical path schedules and shortage lists for all major projects.

  • Provides support to Sales and Customer Service by providing prompt responses to all inquiries and requests concerning deliveries and schedules.

  • Reviews additional work orders with production and purchasing to establish the correct delivery expectations.

  • Assembles and delivers project binders to production for processing.

  • Travel may be required as needed

  • Weekly assistance for hour tracking and updating in payroll and ERP systems (ADP & BAAN).

  • Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required.

Qualifications and experience

  • Must have a High School diploma with some additional studies in Engineering, Computer Science, and Business Management or have equivalent experience during previous employment. In addition, a strong knowledge of computers is needed to perform in this position effectively.

  • Strong competence in computerized systems

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Good PC skills including word processing spread sheet and project scheduling software capabilities

  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate information on equipment drawings
