PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking Material Program Manager in Cupertino, CA.
This will be a unique hybrid role encompassing supply-chain and operational execution activities for NPI and shipping products. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end supply-chain management for a category of products. Activities would involve demand forecast management, materials management and coordinating factory operations.
This is a strategic supply chain role, interacting with our Contract Manufacturers (CMs), vendors and internal core teams, encompassing critical component planning, allocation direction, supply flexibility modeling, and materials liability management. - We are looking for a self-starter for this unique MPM role to effectively lead various cross-functional teams/discussions across supply-chain functions like demand planning, materials and operations. In this role, you will be leading efforts in the following categories:
Develop, communicate, and execute end-to-end product demand and supply plans across all channels of distribution across multiple geographies for a current or future product line.
Generate weekly and quarterly supply plans that meet Apple’s financial objectives.
Coordinate with Marketing and New Product Operations teams to set launch quantities of new product introductions and to ensure smooth product transitions.
NPI Material Readiness:
During pre-production (prototype) phase, lead material readiness meetings with the Global Supply Managers to ensure supply base and related challenges are understood (i.e. potential supply risks, supplier location and logistics, sole sourced modules, component lead-time, supplier share of business, order lead time and order cancellation window).
Lead material planning, forecasting, and readiness to enable technology development, new product development, supply qualification and factory readiness.
Lead materials budget planning and spend management through collaboration with Finance and Engineering
Partner with Engineering and Manufacturer Partners to lead configuration management for development build phases; propose optimized supply plan to ensure on-time build schedule, and drive closure of materials issues.
MP Material Readiness:
Lead supply chain transition from engineering to high-volume mass production.
For shipping products, you will manage the CTB ("clear to build") process with suppliers and OEMs, ensuring that we have efficient process and clear visibility on our procurement strategy. Your successful ability to partner with OEMs and the sourcing team on material strategy will directly impact our product success.
Partner with the CM to develop a model that incorporates the specific supply chain and materials flow details to project availability in support of our supply/demand goals.
Create allocation strategies for constrained materials by developing models across factories, programs, and lines of business. Provide allocation direction to Global Supply Managers and Apple Suppliers.
Prepare and communicate critical Materials updates at weekly Sustaining Executive Program reviews; maintain executive reports and summaries, providing accurate and timely data to leadership on a weekly basis.
Coordinate OEM operations in managing manufacturing capacity/ costs in addition to planning & executing development builds for newproduct development/ramps.
Plan capacity and lead factory equipment budget. Drive ramp readiness with engineering, operations and OEM teams.
Communicate requirements and schedules to facilitate technical readiness with supply-chain teams.
Influence product manufacturability, testability, and supply chain responsiveness in pursuit of low cost and flexibility while stewarding quality
Self-starter with ability to identify risks and opportunities and proactively take action.
Experience in manufacturing, production development and material management. Prior education background in engineering is a plus.
Excels in program/ project management; thrives in an ambiguous environment and is adept at facilitating actions and resolving conflicts. Strong written and verbal communication skills
Professional experience with complex supply chain, technical expertise, or prior OEM management experience preferred.
Deep understanding of multi-tier, complex supply chain operations
Advanced modeling and predictive analytical skills; "Advanced User" of MS Excel with deep understanding of Excel techniques. VBA, SQL, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools a plus.
International experience and Mandarin, Japanese, Vietnamese language skills a plus.
Results oriented and attention to detail with strong inter-personal skills and ability to present to executive leadership.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree with minimum 3+ years of professional experience required.
MBA or Master's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Operations Management preferred.
