PDS Tech Inc Structural Engineer in El Segundo, California
Looking for aerospace engineers with a structural analysis background!
Job Summary The candidate will work as a Structural Engineer focusing on generating structural engineering analysis packages to ensure compliance of tooling fixtures like assembly and lifting jigs in an aerospace fabrication environment. They will perform structural analysis using FEMAP/NASTRAN and provide input on product design involving various structural materials.
Essential functions:
• Performing structural analysis in FEMAP/NASTRAN of metallic and composite structures.
• Creation of reports in support of completed analysis as well as review reports of others
• Concise presentation and explanation of structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.
• Engage with other team members in meetings, 1:1’s and others in order to provide the right solution to complex engineering problems
• Evaluation of engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications
• Static and dynamic analysis in support of Major/Minor and simple to complex Tooling fixtures and structures
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with industry standard aerospace to conceptualizing designs using 3D modeling tools including NX & CATIA
• Creating drawings for fabrication via CAD, with properly laid out views and dimensions that are in compliance with ASME Y14.1-5 standards for fabrication.
• Experience with fabrication applying such factors as accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements.
Skill Requirements
Must-Have Requirements
Structural analysis experience using FEMAP/NASTRAN
Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA/NX)
Ability to create and interpret **engineering drawings & specs (ASME 1
4.5)**
Familiarity with GD&T
Experience with stress analysis techniques
Preferred Requirements
Professional Engineering License or working towards it
Direct experience with aerospace tooling mechanics and analysis
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Pay Details: $40.00 to $47.00 per hour
