PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Software Application Developer-Product in Englewood, CO

Job Description:

• PDS Tech is currently looking for 2 Software Application Developers in the Englewood, CO area that will work on a foundational web service solution that enables tailoring of charting information used by commercial airline customers.

• The work will involve Java front end and back end technologies for solutions hosted on the Microsoft Azure cloud.

• A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration as these positions will focus on working directly with the Senior project leaders to implement features and capabilities under Agile SAFe methodologies to meet project milestones and business objectives and commitments.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develops, maintains and implements software code by utilizing software development programming languages tools in defined environments that adheres to allocated requirements and design. Participates in internal code walkthroughs.

• Develops automated unit test procedures and scripts needed to complete development rigor requirements.

• Develops/decomposes, documents and maintains designs for software implementation artifacts consistent with the defined architecture and requirements/regulations by applying established methods and practices.

• Participates in internal lifecycle data reviews.

• Contributes to software requirement definition and verification activities.

• With general direction, provides data, recommendations, and estimates for software component level project planning including corrective action plans.

• Coordinates and participates in project management reviews and compliance audits.

• Troubleshoots and investigates difficult problems across software components.

• Evaluates proposed solutions to problems.

• For all phases of the software life cycle contributes as directed towards: develops, selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics; and utilizes regulations and industry standards.

• Participates in process reviews.

• With general direction, provides guidance to less experienced employees, performs research, contributes to proposals, documents research and development results and aids technology transfer into programs.

• As directed and able, provides subject matter expertise on software techniques, methodologies and processes to customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.

• Provides guidance to less experienced engineers.

• Supports operational and integration issue resolution of regulatory, domain and specific software systems.

• The Software Application Engineer designs, develops, executes and maintains software code for software products.

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Work experience: 5 years Level 4+ Software lifecycle data knowledge including coding and JUnit test creation.

• Design and develop code using these technologies, skills and tools:

• Analyze requirements and design for implementation, design and develop code

• Object Oriented concepts using Java technologies supporting back and front-end work

• Angular or React UI frameworks

• Database Interfaces (Postgres)

• JSON, XML, SQL

• Software build and deploy with IDEs and toolsets

• Maven, Jenkins, GIT, GITLab, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Azure Dev Ops

• Software integrity tool analysis (Coverity, SonarQube, Rapid7)

• JIRA/Confluence for SCM, task tracking, documentation Unit Tests and Peer Reviews

• Document design documents and keep them up to date

• Troubleshoot failures, report failures and create defects as required

• Work closely with validation team when needed on Selenium Test Automation frameworks

• Work close and engage with project support teams

• Bachelor's degree or higher in relation to work experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Cloud application development and deployment expertise (Windows & Linux VMs)

• CI/CD concepts

• Agile SAFe development methodology
