PDS Tech Inc Mechanical Engineer (Elevator Industry) in Florence, South Carolina
PDS Tech is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for an open position in Florence SC
This position will provide product support for a variety of elevator components and mechanical systems. The position will play a crucial role in maintaining product integrity, evaluating opportunities, and integrating new component designs into existing systems, while working to meet agreed upon cost and schedule commitments.
Typical responsibilities include:
Product life cycle maintenance,
Cost reduction projects, and
Analyzing, designing, and modifying elevator components and complete elevator systems.
The candidate should be able to:
Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings, and sometimes building plans in order to analyze complex problems and identify root cause issues and develop innovative solutions.
Work across engineering disciplines with electrical engineers, software engineers, and test engineers
The candidate must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and be able to collaborate effectively working on cross-functional teams in order to work closely with manufacturing operations, supply management, contract logistics, finance, and field support to ensure designs are compatible with requirements from across the organization.

MS degree with 2+ years’ experience
BS degree with 3+ years’ experience
Sound mechanical engineering background (mechanical and system modeling and design, component modeling and design)
Creo / Pro Engineer
Mechanical structural analysis with Ansys or other FEA Software
Design documentation with Mathcad
Strong communications and leadership ability
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Hands-on testing or manufacturing experience preferred but not required
