PDS Tech, Inc, is seeking Aircraft Assemblers in Foley, AL.

The position responsibilities include:

  • ASSEMBLER II UPDATED JOB DESCRIPTION: Assemblers II assemble and train others to manufacture aircraft parts to meet engineering, customer and regulatory requirements. You will perform routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes for assembly and fabrication of structural aircraft parts within the allotted takt time to meet customer demands while working in a team environment. As an Assembler, you will be contributing to the final assembly of these parts for our customers, thus helping UTC Aerospace Systems to maintain its standing as one of the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. In this role you will: o Read and follow detailed work instructions and blueprints o Drill holes in various metal and composite components o Install fasteners in the assembly of components o Mix, apply and cure seal o Conduct self-inspection and audit of your completed work o Clean and perform routine maintenance to your work station Basic Qualifications • At least 18 years of age or older. • Due to federal regulation or contracting requirements, this position is only available to U.S. persons. • Must have 2 years minimum experience in Original Equipment Manufacturing Nacelle Major Assembly work (Major Assembly is Assembly Routing, which under normal conditions requires at least two Assemblers to complete). • Must be skilled in 2 or more Major Nacelle Assembly areas. • Read, write, speak and understand work instructions both verbal and written, perform basic math calculations and conduct self-inspection / audit. • Ability to work varying shifts, including but not limited to nights, weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and overtime as required. Working Environment Qualifications • Ability to maintain focus regarding safety, quality and productivity. • Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, customers, and others in a team environment displaying mutual trust and respect. • Ability to be regular and predictable in attendance. • Ability to bend, stoop, stand, kneel for 8+ hours per day and lift 35+ pounds repetitively with or without accommodation and meet other physical requirements based on a medical screening following post offer. • Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and other PPE as needed for 8+ hours per day. • Ability to work with chemicals. • Experience using hand tools, power tools, drills and precision measuring equipment. • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and comply with policies, applicable regulatory, safety and company rules and requirements, operating instructions, procedures and governmental regulations. • Demonstrate time, priority and stress management skills in a fast paced environment meeting deadlines while maintaining a customer-oriented demeanor. • Self-directed & action oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision and resolve most questions and problems. • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing.
