PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Quality Specialist in Haltom City, TX
Job Description:
This position is for a Quality Inspection technician at Receiving Inspection who works under general supervision.
Performing basic to moderately complex product feature inspections on purchased parts and materials, identifying defects, approving or rejecting items, testing material composition, checking if products are conforming to standards, and reporting defects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure all incoming, inventory and outgoing material meets quality inspection standards in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System
Perform receiving, inventory and final inspection on all material, detail components and sub-assemblies utilizing common inspection methods
Compares material and associated documentation against customer purchase orders, customer specifications and/or the organizations purchase orders to ensure product meets requirements
Assist with identification and segregation of non-conforming product and manage until review and final disposition
Record, document and manage all non-conforming material following established procedures
Maintain accurate records and file management (electronic or hard copy) of all work performed
Assist with identifying and generating process enhancements and continuous improvement activities
Follow proper material handling and packaging techniques to avoid damage to product
Perform other duties and projects as required or assigned
Utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers and profilometer
Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design
Communicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepancies
Use electronic ERP system to route parts and components to proper departments
Preferred Skills:
Experience detecting design and drawing flaws
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Experience with GD&T and use of metrology tools and gauges
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Other software knowledge such as SAP, CATIA etc. is a plus
Working knowledge with industry standards ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 Rev. D
Excellent attention to detail, results driven, organizational, time management and follow-up skills
Strong communication, interpersonal and writing skills
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires an HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.
