PDS Tech Inc Flight Test Engineer in Greensboro, North Carolina

General Summary:

The Flight Test Engineer position is responsible for planning, executing and reporting on flight tests based on engineering and regulatory requirements. He/she also acts as second-in-command during flight test and other flight operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Authoring flight test plans based on engineering and regulatory requirements.

  • Responsible for test team preparedness prior to execution of flight tests.

  • Chairing the mission briefing prior to flight tests.

  • Acting as on-board or ground based test conductor directing test and recording results.

  • Responsible for post-test data analysis and compilation of flight test reports.

  • Acting as second-in-command during flight test and other flight operations.

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technically related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. FAA Commercial multi-engine land with instrument rating.

  • Previous experience in flight test is desired.

  • Class II medical

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Commercial multi-engine with instrument rating (appropriate category and class)

  • 500 hours total time required – 1,000 hours desired

  • 250 hours PIC time required – 500 hours desired

  • 100 hours multi-engine time required – 200 hours desired

  • 100 hours turbine time desired

Physical Requirements:

  • Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.

  • Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.

  • Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).

  • Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.

  • Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.

  • Effectively communicate in Business English language.

  • Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
