PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer in Hood River, OR

Job Description:

  • Directly communicate with suppliers and other stakeholders to resolve quality concerns.

  • AS9102 FAIR review and feedback to suppliers when part or FAIR documentation is nonconforming.

  • Direct existing Supply Chain Team when to request a FAIR from suppliers.

  • Perform FAIR inspection and FAIR document review, approve parts and sign FAIRs.

  • Technical point of contact when Supply Chain is communicating with Suppliers to resolve issues.

  • Attend Management Review as the only Quality asset on site.

  • Provide feedback and guidance to manufacturing personnel regarding quality concerns, workmanship, specification interpretation, and other manufacturing support efforts.

  • Create quality inspection plan for suppliers experiencing high rate of failure.

  • Perform supplier visits to ensure supplier follows Quality Inspection Plan and that delivered product meets requirements.

  • Author Quality Inspection Plans for parts - determine key characteristics, generate plan, develop inspection process, create inspection Work Instruction when needed

  • Provide feedback to Design Engineers regarding errors in drawings and manufacturability concerns, redline drawings for engineering.

  • Review recommendations for replacement or equivalent parts to be used in manufacturing, provide acceptance/rejection of new part from alternate source.

  • Process owner for Calibration and TPM. Definition and maintenance of procedure and process.

  • Execution of process to include verification and scheduling/hosting calibration services.

  • Providing reports on equipment status to planning and production to avoid work stoppages due to machine downtime.

  • ESD coordinator. This entails ownership of the process/procedure.

  • Responsibility to ensure training content is generated and delivered.

  • Assessing implementation/effectiveness of ESD program. FOD coordinator.

  • This entails ownership of the process/procedure.

  • Responsibility to ensure training content is generated and delivered.

  • Posting signage as needed.

  • Assessing implementation/effectiveness of FOD program.

  • Approve CRB actions as the only Quality asset on site

  • Approval of Material Master updates as the only Quality asset on site

Qualifications:

  • Quality Engineer with minimum 5 years experience.

  • Based on business needs, some OT support will be required
