The Deployment/SCCM engineer is required for a Windows 10 virtual and physical desktop upgrade (approx. 4000 devices).

The engineer will mainly focus on assisting users the an “In Place Upgrade” or upgrade to Windows 10 via “Bare Metal” Build approach.

The engineer will be the first point of contact for the user, post upgrade and will be expected to remediate issues as of when they arise or log and pass the issue onto the correct resolver team.

  • This role is focused on the implementation of Windows 10 builds, user support, as well as application deployment and troubleshooting.

  • Strong experience in SCCM, re-imaging and image deployment as well as troubleshooting and remediation.

  • Expert knowledge of delivering applications using various deployment methods, including SCCM and virtualization tools such as App-v.

  • This includes application life cycle management from initial assessment through to retirement.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services and Group Policies as they relate to end user devices and applications.

  • Good knowledge of tracking assets using discovery methods with SCCM, AD, IP Range.

  • Asset management including documentation and audit trace-ability.

KEY QUALITIES

  • At least 5 years’ experience of building and troubleshooting Windows desktop operating systems, up to and including Windows 10.

  • Proactive and dynamic individual with excellent client facing and good negation skills.

  • Proven knowledge of desktop hardware and peripherals.

  • Knowledge of Active Directory and troubleshooting Group Policy.

  • Demonstrable experience of supporting MS Office suite, up to and including 2016/O365.

  • Experience of deploying software using SCCM and AppV.

  • Good knowledge of, and experience troubleshooting and maintaining, desktop security products such as anti-virus, certificates, drive encryption, and OS Patching.

  • Working knowledge of broader MS Product range (Skype for Business, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams).
