Job Summary

Under general direction, is responsible for coordination and administration of Company Human Resources programs with emphasis on staffing. Interfaces cross-functionally and independently with internal and external stakeholders (such as employees, management, carriers, vendors) in accomplishing job responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides coordination and administrative support to Union and non-Union (nonexempt and exempt) staffing activities, including: processing/tracking position requisitions and job descriptions, posting Plant-wide and on websites, determining recruiting sources/strategies, screening resumes and applicants, assisting/scheduling applicants and candidates, interviewing, sending response letters to candidates and closing position files

  • Participate in comparability studies, wage surveys and job analysis as required

  • Prepares and analyzes data for the preparation of the AAP.

  • Performs audits of applicant flow and other AAP data.

  • Perform a broad range of labor relations activities including contract administration, grievance investigation, pre-arbitration settlement negotiations, arbitration, and contract negotiations.

  • Advises management on the application and administration of various collective bargaining agreements and labor relations policies.

  • Assessment and administration of disciplinary activity of employees.

  • Conducts disciplinary/"just cause" hearings.

  • Leads/Participates in Positive Employee Relations activities and trainings.

  • Responds to direction and guidance from senior personnel, and provides assistance to other areas when required.

Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years with BA or 1-3 years with MBA

  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus

  • Manufacturing Experience Preferred

  • Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.

  • In-depth staffing experience, manufacturing/Union preferred

  • Knowledge of California Employment Laws

  • Plan daily activities to ensure multiple projects or requirements are met.

  • Proficient in all MS Office applications.

  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral.
