PDS Tech Inc Quality Inspector in Los Angeles, California

THE PURPOSE

Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments. CMM programming, Laser Trackers, gauges, mics, calipers, and vision system.

THE ROLE:

  • Performs inspection and testing of purchased materials, components and products in accordance with policy and procedures.

  • Write procedures for inspection methods.

  • Ability to program CMM and Optical systems.

  • Performs visual, dimensional and functional inspection and testing according to documented policies and procedures.

  • Records inspection and test data as prescribed by written instructions and procedures.

  • Collects and analyzes data for First Article inspections.

  • Interface with suppliers as required in support of material quality / technical inspection

  • General experience inspecting wire harness, connectors, breaker, and other equivalent power systems to industry standards (IPC 610/620, J-STD, etc.)

  • Interacts with CNC machining operators and supervisors to resolve nonconformities

  • Proficient use of common inspection equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gages, radius gages, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, dial indicators to perform required inspections.

  • Generate non-conformance reports as well as other internal department report forms.

  • Review of material certification, material test reports, certificate of conformance, data reports, against relevant standards and specification, and purchase order requirements.

  • Review all completed work order, product documentation, test and inspection data to ensure entries are complete, accurate, and legible.

  • May train other inspection staff on use of equipment.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours min

  • Must be able to work all shift hours, able to work overtime and weekend as needed.

  • May be requested to travel to support source inspection at vendor facilities and/or test site in Las Vegas.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma

  • 5+ years’ experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing industry.

  • The ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings, specifications, geometric dimensioning and tolerances per ANSI/ASME Y 14.5.

  • Expert knowledge of all mechanical inspection tool

  • Advance experience in CMM

  • Advance experience in using Laser Tracker

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing priorities and tasks as delegated.

  • Experience with performing electronic testing and inspections using portable measuring devices.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • BS or AA in a technical or engineering field

  • Demonstrated experience with J-STD or IPC 610 criteria.

  • Strong understanding of safety programs and OSHA regulations and requirements.

  • Practical experience working within Quality Management Systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001)

WORK SCHEDULE

Part Time, 25-30 hours per week.

1st Shift position

Paying up to $37 hr
