PDS Tech Inc Customs and Compliance Specialist in Madison, Alabama

• Act as the main point of contact for Company to US Customs

• Assist stakeholder groups with Customs compliance matters

• Manage daily trade-related compliance operations

• Leverage Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to identify abnormal conditions and problem-solve

• Work cross-functionally with Customs Brokers, Security, Suppliers, Logistics Operations, Logistics Providers, freight forwarders, and manufacturing/conveyance Team Members to ensure supply chain compliance with US Customs and related regulations

• Build and perform internal audits and coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure supply chain compliance with US Customs

• Identify, visualize, report, and ensure countermeasure of non-compliance issues

• Support import and export trade requirements as needed

• Establish operating procedures related to Customs compliance, supply chain systems compliance, and related audit processes

• Lead problem solving efforts to countermeasure and mitigate impact of abnormal supply chain conditions

• Support change point management activities, crisis management, and contingency planning for production and production systems – including coordination with all internal and external stakeholders

• Support on-site partners to ensure campus-wide Customs compliance

• Contribute to and support annual business plans and strategies to support Manufacturing priorities

• Create and manage multiple projects and related schedules, driving decision-making and communicating status to key stakeholders

• Interpret and navigate complex regulations (CFR19 & CFR22) and clearly communicate impact and requirements to key stakeholders

• Ability to work outside of typical business hours and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)

What You Bring

• 4+ years of experience in Customs compliance role or related field

• Bachelor's Degree (or Higher)

• Direct exposure and responsibility for CTPAT compliance at a medium to large company or experience for other trade-related compliance activities such as:

o General US Customs Compliance

o HTS Classification

o Duty Calculation

o Free Trade Agreements

o Foreign Trade Zones

• Previous interaction with Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders, and other trade compliance professionals

• Cross-functional problem-solving skills and experience

• Experience coordinating, presenting, or leading decision-making meetings

• Ability to adapt to rapid change and work under pressure

• Strong Microsoft office skills, specifically Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and PowerBi

• Ability to work overtime during peak times, including weekend/holiday work

What Will Set You Apart

• Experience in a Customs Compliance role in the automotive industry

• Customs Broker License and/or Export Control Certification

• Compliance with US Export Control Laws (EAR/ITAR)

• Sanctions Compliance & Denied Party Screening

• US Census Bureau/EEI Filings

• CTPAT or other trade compliance training/certification

• Bilingual English/Spanish

• Customs compliance experience in high-volume manufacturing facility

• Functional project management skills in a large-scale manufacturing environment

• Experience leading complex projects/teams

• Development of project strategies, problem-solving and countermeasures
