PDS Tech is seeking an Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer for an open position in Manassas VA
The ideal candidate will:
Analyze customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products.
Develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications.
Validate designs through various methods of review, testing and analysis.
Identify, track and status technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements.
Support Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services of limited scope.
Provide engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product.
Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Work under general direction.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
BSEE or equivalent technical degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience or MS with 2-4 years of relevant experience
Ability to translate requirements to design
Experience with high level architectural design and component selection
Proven experience performing an electronic detailed design, including schematic capture
Proficient using EDA tools
Experience with test planning and execution
Experience with test procedure development and documentation
Proficient using electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, waveform generators, DMMs, and logic analyzers
Strong analytical skills and ability to debug complex systems
Process oriented and familiarity with problem tracking systems
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to work independently and deliver on schedule commitments
Candidates must be willing to work on-site at the Manassas, VA facility as needed
Candidates will perform all work on-site at the Manassas, VA facility
Candidates will have experience in some of the following areas:
Experience with Mentor Graphics Capital tool
Block diagramming with Microsoft Visio
Experience supporting the manufacturing process from requirements through build and test
Experience designing and/or testing analog power electronics, including 28VDC systems and 115VAC
Familiarity with high voltage power systems for electric aircraft propulsion
Experience with environmental qualification and stress testing of hardware
Familiarity with high speed digital electronics, including serial data hardware interfaces
DO-160, DO-178 or DO-254
MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704
