PDS Tech Inc Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer in Manassas, Virginia

PDS Tech is seeking an Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer for an open position in Manassas VA

Job Description:

  • Resolves complex issues on critical programs related to architectural approaches, requirements, specifications and design.

  • Leads technical aspect of proposal preparation.

  • Identifies critical performance measures and develops processes for computing them.

  • Leads activities in support of Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services.

  • Coordinates engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product.

  • Develops new concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.

  • Recommends and manages technology insertion.

  • Works under consultative direction.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BSEE or equivalent technical degree with 6 years of relevant experience or MS with 4 years of experience, or PhD with 2 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to translate requirements to design

  • Experience with high level architectural design and component selection

  • Proven experience performing an electronic detailed design, including schematic capture

  • Proficient using EDA tools

  • Experience with test planning and execution

  • Experience with test procedure development and documentation

  • Proficient using electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, waveform generators, DMMs, and logic analyzers

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to debug complex systems

  • Process oriented and familiarity with problem tracking systems

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Ability to work independently and deliver on schedule commitments

  • Candidates must be willing to work on-site at the Manassas, VA facility as needed

  • Candidates must be U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder)

Desired Requirements:

  • Candidates will perform all work on-site at the Manassas, VA facility

Candidates will have experience in some of the following areas:

  • Aircraft avionics

  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Capital tool

  • Block diagramming with Microsoft Visio

  • Experience supporting the manufacturing process from requirements through build and test

  • Experience designing and/or testing analog power electronics, including 28VDC systems and 115VAC

  • Familiarity with high voltage power systems for electric aircraft propulsion

  • Experience with environmental qualification and stress testing of hardware
