PDS Tech Inc CNC Machinist in Maple Grove, Minnesota

Are you looking to elevate your CNC machining career? PDS Tech Commercial, Inc. is excited to partner with our esteemed client, a leader in electromechanical manufacturing and supply chain solutions, to find a talented CNC Machinist for our team in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

As a CNC Machinist, you will be pivotal in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting both new and existing parts and production lots. You will ensure high-quality production by detecting malfunctions in machine operations and operating CNC machines to produce parts with tight tolerances according to detailed engineering drawings. Your work will involve CNC machining centers, CNC multi-spindle drilling machines, other manual drilling machines, single spindle mills, press brakes, and various measuring equipment. Additionally, you may edit CNC programs and interpret geometric tolerances on drawings to manufacture parts to specifications.

Pay Rate:

  • 1st shift: 6am to 2:30pm - $ 33/hr *more for the right experience

Job Duties:

  • Follow all company policies, rules, regulations, ISO procedures, and work instructions.

  • Work from CAD drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions to plan and layout work.

  • Set up, load parts, and operate various machining equipment safely to produce quality parts with very close tolerances.

  • Interpret and edit existing CNC programs as necessary to set up and operate CNC machines.

  • Review sequences of machining operations, speeds, and feeds, and provide input to improve production methods.

  • Participate in designing and machining special tooling or fixtures needed for manufacturing parts.

  • Input CNC programs for new parts, utilizing knowledge of numerical control machine operation.

  • Calculate and code machine controlling criteria such as axis movement, cutting and drilling tools, spindle location, and machining start points.

  • Monitor and change tools as required.

  • De-burr parts as needed to meet quality standards.

  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust the machine to ensure quality production.

  • Use coordinate measuring machines (manual and automated vision systems) and hand measuring tools for quality inspections.

  • Perform first piece inspection and documentation, monitor quality parameters using inspection sheets, and conduct dimensional inspections to ensure conformance to quality requirements.

Job Specifications:

  • High School diploma plus trade school training in machine shop practices and procedures.

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience using Vertical CNC machining centers and general-purpose machining and inspection equipment.

  • Proficiency in all phases of setup, operation, program editing, and troubleshooting.

  • Intermediate knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments.

  • Compliance with ITAR regulations is required as the client is an ITAR facility.

Pay Details: $33.00 to $35.00 per hour
