PDS Tech is seeking a Parts Approval Engineer in Marlborough, MA

. The Parts Approval Engineer will chair the Parts Material Control Board (PMCB) meetings in accordance with Raytheon Standard Practices; participate in Configuration Control Board (CCB), Integrated Product Team (IPT), & Cross Business Team (CBT) meetings; submit the required program reports; develop and implement a Parts Material Control Plan (PMCP). The Parts Approval Engineer will ensure the Parts Material Control Plan (PMCP) is deployed and executed. The Parts Approval Engineer will ensure that all risks associated with the parts and COTS Equipment that are selected and approved for use on a given program are mitigated effectively such that they do not impact the program performance. In addition the Parts Approval Engineer may also perform Obsolescence and DMSMS* support. Primary Obsolescence activities involve monitoring program systems to identify obsolescence risks, investigating potential mitigations for obsolete and near obsolete parts, supporting Obsolescence Management Working groups and Integrated Product teams, reporting system obsolescence health statistics and maintaining various obsolescence databases. Parts Approval Engineer responsibilities may also include financial reporting such as earned value management, workload planning, and support to proposal efforts.

Required Skills: 6+ years of related engineering experience.Component knowledgeDesired Qualifications/Skills: Must currently possess or be able to obtain a Secret Security ClearanceExperience in developing obsolescence mitigation optionsExperience reading engineering drawingsExperience with product and procurement management systems such as: PTC Windchill (PDM) and SAP PRISMExperience with data mining solutions such as SiliconExpert and IHS CAPS Universe. Proficient with the MS Office suite; specific competence with data analysis and manipulation using Excel and Access.Experience interfacing with manufacturers and suppliersQualified R6Sigma specialistBackground in component engineering, including guiding component selection.Experience with a wide application of technical theories and concepts related to system logistics/sustainment/production activities/obsolescence.Experience in preparing customer and/or management level briefings.Experience in development of technical and cost proposals.Experience with program and project tasks, including managing cost and schedule as well as associated reporting. Proven multi-disciplinary leadership and technical skills to engage peers, superiors, and subordinates across the various IDS CBTs and IBTs. Working knowledge of, or experience with configuration management processes as part of the product life cycle

Required Education: BS/BA in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or Technical Discipline (STEM) or 8+ years of experience relevant to this job description may be considered in lieu of a BS/BA. (Two years related work experience can substitute for one year of education)This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
