PDS Tech Inc Engineering Technician in Minneapolis, Minnesota

PDS is seeking an Engineering Technician, in Minneapolis, MN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Logically troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and the components

  • Test and verify instrument and component performance

  • Work independently and participate on cross-functional teams

  • Build and test prototype hardware/cables

  • Implement repairs and modifications

  • Provide support during the transition of product from engineering to manufacturing

  • Setup and operate electronic test instrumentation.

  • Conduct laboratory and field verification tests and experiments including data collection and reduction

  • Document technical data clearly for engineering analysis and communicate

  • experimental results to other members of the RD&E team

  • Maintain a safe, well-organized and properly stocked laboratory area.

  • (Build and test printed board assemblies using primarily surface mount technology.)

  • (Develop a working knowledge of electronic acceptance criteria, e.g. ANSI/ IPC-610 or other IPC certifications)

  • Maintain a safe working environment, following established procedures

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 2-year Associates degree or 0-4 years of related engineering technician experience

  • MS Office experience

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of common analog and digital circuits

  • Demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting and repair techniques

  • Thorough knowledge of test equipment, e.g., multimeters, scopes, pressure, flow measurement, etc.

  • Field travel as required

  • Excellent communication, computer, reporting, and analytical skills

  • Analytical process control instrumentation experience is a plus.

  • Can resolve wide ranges of issues in creative ways.

  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
