PDS Tech Inc Fabrication Specialist in New Orleans, Louisiana

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking candidates for a Fabrication Specialist position in New Orleans, LA.

Job Description:

  • Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks.

  • Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks.

  • Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.

  • Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains.

  • Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products.

  • Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products.

  • Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests.

  • Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation.

  • Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements.

  • Works on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements.

Tank Monitor Position Responsibilities:

  • Interact with cross functional personnel.

  • Performs FOD (foreign object debris) monitoring tasks in support of the SLS Program.

  • Performs walk downs of FOD Critical areas.

  • Monitors tool controls and provide coaching on tool and part procedures.

  • Monitors and logs on computer personnel entering or exiting FOD critical areas.

  • Logs in and out all shop consumables, small parts and tools.

  • Verifies proper tethering and stowage procedures are followed and performs FOD checks at the end of each shift.

  • Assists personnel with items as required

  • Monitors oxygen levels for confined spaces while area has an active permit until closeout

  • Hazardous waste management

  • Keeps consumables and PPE restocked

  • Performs 5S/area organization tasks as assigned

Shift Work Statement:

  • This position will start at 1st shift for training. Shift may vary based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Interpersonal Skills.

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, etc.).
