PDS Tech Inc CNC Operator in Oneida, Wisconsin

CNC Machinist

Primary Objective:

Supports production operations by performing moderate to difficult machining operations. A CNC Machinist II operates various types of machine tools and performs progressive machining operations for metal parts, tools and machines with close tolerance and focus on high quality and accurate parts. May suggest edits to the NC programmer in the course of making parts.

Key Job Duties:

Reads and interprets specific machining instructions from complex blueprints, part and machine drawings.

Must be able to set up all tooling, write and execute complex programs.

Sets up, operates and programs a broad range of production work involving close tolerance and set ups that are exacting that are somewhat involved and have moderate to high degree of difficulty.

Performs other secondary operations such as stamping part numbers and deburring during machine cycle times.

Inspects machine parts to ensure they meet proper size, shape, or tolerance specs using micrometers and other measuring tools and devices.

Performs routine maintenance.

Performs quality audits of completed work within the machine shop department.

Must be able to write programs without assistance.

Participates in and contributes to the lean manufacturing journey.

Assists in other areas and performs additional tasks as needed.

Position may transition to second shift

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required

Technical Degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field preferred

Must be good at problem solving, have good mechanical aptitude, and able to learn and understand job methods and instructions in a timely manner

2+ years of relevant machining experience desired

Excellent work history desired

Must be able to stand for long periods of time and regularly lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis
