PDS Tech Inc Injection Mold Set Up in Ontario, California

​​​​​ AKKA Technologies (Mother Company of PDS) is currently looking for a Injection Mold Set Up Specialist for a 3-5 month project with our client in Ontario, CA. The Planner is responsible for supporting plastic production through setting molds, recording setup information and water diagrams, setting up work stations and helping to loading process parts per master control plans as well as assisting others in the support of manufacturing.

Duties :

Technical Support

  • Setting molds, dies, etc., to conform to schedule requirements, to include leaving the work station clean and organize with quality parts coming from the process, while minimizing downtime.

  • Follow safety rules and Procedures: Company safety Policy, PPE Policy and Hazardous Material Policy.

  • Attending complete schedule day of work. This includes showing up on time and completing the shift on a daily basis.

  • Work overtime if needed to meet production orders

  • Immediately report safety issues

  • Maintain and follow 5S+1 principles (Sort, Set-in-Order, Shine, standardize, Sustain and Safety)

  • Process tool changes, trial runs and color changes according to production schedule. Preventative maintenance injection molding tools.

  • Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams and malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.

  • Responsible for all task resulting from environmental management system according to AS9100 an QMS.

  • Provide Tool Control support as required on a daily basis

  • Preform hazardous waste duties as required

  • Operate Forklift

  • Support Departmental and Personal Objectives/Measurements

  • Willing to learn and apply lean concepts to daily tasks

  • Participate in lean activities to improve efficiency and reduce waste in tool shop operation

Lean Support

  • Promote and support 6s, Kaizen and other Lean activities

  • Participate and contribute to 6s and Lean activities

Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or a GED

  • Minimum 2 years in Aerospace

  • Accountability – takes a no excuses approach to making things happen. Takes responsibility for own actions and results. Keep commitments to each other, customers, leaders, and shareholders

  • Collaboration – Establishes collaborative relationships to achieve objectives

  • Communication – Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills

  • Ability to take verbal direction and work in a team environment

  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with limited direction

  • Strong organizational, time and project management skills in a Lean environment

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Self-motivated and multi-tasker; able to level load own workload

  • Forklift certified (or ability to obtain within 90 days)

  • Ability to lift 30lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (in business, supply chain or logistics management) or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or logistics management

  • Knowledge of Lean, pull system, Kanban and JIT.
