PDS Tech Inc Mechanical Design - Secret in Orlando, Florida

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Orlando, FL.

Description:

  • Mechanical Designer responsible for the mechanical design, engineering documentation, trade studies, drawing release, GD&T and producibility for a selected program.

  • Selected candidate will perform conceptual, detail structural design, and producibility studies, as well as lead design reviews, hardware fabrication, integration, and test phases.

  • Extensive mechanical design experience in concept development, detail design, and hardware build and test is highly desirable.

  • Candidate should have excellent verbal and written skills, ability to perform trade studies, interface with major suppliers on complex mechanical assemblies, and capable of working in a dynamic group supporting multiple organizations (internally and externally).

  • Experience with precision optics is desired.

  • Preference for experience in CREO.

Mandatory skills:

  • MUST BE US CITIZEN.

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have a Department of Defense Secret Clearance with a reinvestigation within the last 5 years.

  • Must have the ability to travel (approximately 10-20%) as it may be required to support hardware fabrication/integration activities in Camden, Arkansas and travel internationally to support customer initiatives.

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience.

  • 3D parametric modeling experience using (preferred 3D parametric modeling software, PTC CREO4).

Desired skills:

  • Exposure to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Experience with detail, assembly, and installation type 2D drawings.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and manufacturing processes.

  • Knowledge of mechanical drawing standards.

  • The candidate should have experience with Material Review Board (MRB) type experience, where the disposition of discrepancy reports will be required by engineering.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Knowledge of Agile PLM (for 2D drawing release).

  • Previous client program experience is a plus.
