PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler in Portland, OR.
The position of Material Handler is fast paced and requires the worker to retrieve and deliver products correctly. The individual filling this role will work closely with co-workers and supervisors ensuring that all parts are counted correctly and are housed in appropriate locations. Strong communication skills are essential, as well as basic computer knowledge. The Material Handler must be able to develop and maintain strong working relationships. Attendance and punctuality are essential.
General warehouse operations, load and unload trucks, shipping and receiving, movement of material, package tracking, dock labor, and transportation / distribution.
Identify various assembly components by part number.
Pick parts for restocking in different warehouse locations.
Work in a time efficient manner and at a productive pace without direct supervision.
Use computer to log in warehouse movements and part receiving.
Complete picking orders accurately and efficiently in multiple warehouses.
Take direction from supervisor.
High School diploma or GED.
Valid Driver’s license.
Industrial forklift certification (preferred)
Knowledge of basic warehouse and receiving processes.
Experience entering inventory transactions in an MRP system
Produce quality work at a fast pace, standing on feet all day.
Self-motivated with ability to work independently and proficiently.
Detail oriented, organized and able to handle a high volume of product safely and efficiently.
Professional demeanor with co-workers, suppliers and customers if necessary.
Clearly read, write and comprehend English.
Use a hand truck and pallet jack.
Good written and verbal skills.
- Lifting and carrying 30 – 40 pounds; sometimes up to 50 poundsFrequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; standing for long periods of time; able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain).
