PDS Tech Inc Lead Digital RTL Engineer in Redmond, Washington

PDS Tech is currently seeking a Lead Digital RTL Engineer for our client in Redmond, WA.

Pay Range: The pay range for this Washington-based role is $170,000 - $210,000. Exact compensation offers will vary based on skills, experience, and location.

A Hire Bonus is available for this role.

Relocation assistance is available for new employees to relocate to the Seattle area.

This role offers a flexible work schedule that could include a hybrid schedule of onsite and remote work subject to team and business needs.

Job Summary:

PDS Tech currently has an opportunity in our Digital Engineering Department for an experienced Lead Digital RTL Engineer to lead a sub-team in development and design activities as part of the Digital Design team. In depth knowledge of FPGA design architecture and migration of FPGA to ASIC design is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and test RTL features

  • Break larger features into component parts and delegate to team members

  • Coach/mentor junior members of RTL and integration teams to complete tasks

  • Write detailed implementation requirements from high level specifications

  • Document test and implementation plan and then execute on it

  • Work with other teams integrate developed features into prototype hardware

  • Support bringing up RTL features developed by the team

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field and 10+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of System Verilog, Verilog, Python, TCL programming languages

  • Ability to work well in a fast moving and complex environment

  • Ability to work alongside and lead team of developers to complete complicated RTL features

  • Proficient in FPGA Design methodologies from state machine design to DSP implementation

  • Mapping algorithms to FPGA appropriate logic implementations

  • Experience developing FPGA designs into permanent ASICs

  • Expert integrating and bringing up features in hardware

Preferred:

  • Experiences in a Linux development environment

  • Outstanding communication skills

  • Experience in a Cocotb or other PLI based co-simulation environment

  • Simulink DSP integration experience

  • Experience with LiDAR or other laser technologies

  • Experience working with or developing firmware.
