PDS Tech Inc Mechanical Engineer (Electronic Manufacturing) in Richardson, Texas

PDS Tech is is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven candidate qualified for the position of Mechanical Engineering to be a part of a market leading Celestica Hardware Design Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical engineering assignments related to hardware products as well as systems including development of new products, updates to existing products or sustaining current products. The candidate will be responsible for developing or executing project plans, and documentation of work and test results. The candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of mechanical engineering and all aspects of hardware development.

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to the following:

  • Interfaces with potential customers to help define their needs and to present technical proposals to meet those needs.

  • Ensures proposals meet requirements for design profitability, manufacturing profitability, etc.

  • Provide design and development feedback on projects and schedules

  • Participate in cross functional teams in the design and documenting assemblies

  • Apply engineering knowledge and skills to develop new leading edge technologies.

  • Work independently and in a team environment.

  • Provide technical support to business development teams to assist in the winning of new business.

  • Maintain current on industry trends and future technology and market opportunities.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • 11+ years of relevant experience.

  • Engineering Foundation Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the business unit and how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery and the profitability of the unit.

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of engineering design and development, and production in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.

  • Ability to establish business unit goals and coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet quality and quantity metrics.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

  • Ability to effectively lead, train and motivate a diverse group of employees to meet high levels of technical requirements within tight time deadlines.

Typical Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred
