PDS Tech Inc Electronic Technician - Automotive in Santa Clarita, California

PDS TECH INC is currently looking for an Electronic Technician for our Motorsports client in Santa Clarita.

Responsibilities:

Designing and building 48V to 800V Invertor applications & ICE ignition coils, small scale control circuits

Must Have:

  1. Basic small-scale circuit design. Use of relevant tools such as Altium for PCB application

  2. Implementation of sensors or actuators for test operations. How and where to find actuator and sensor operational and application information.

  3. Understanding of data acquisition sensors (pressure, temperature, speed, inertial etc.) power device connections (actuators, e-motor drives etc.) considering noise alleviation and ground loop suppression for vehicle and Power Unit installations.

  4. Application of e-machine invertors for e-machine operation and application for DC 48V to 900V.

  5. Coils and spark testing. Energy and breakdown measurements for health checks and future specification setting aligned to development combustion technologies.

  6. Testing and validation of lambda and knock control circuits and optimization of calibration for required, subsystem or Engine Control Unit.

Required Knowledge:

  1. Basic understanding of ICE engine control components. Coils, Actuators, HW communications

  2. Understanding and theory of electrical circuit design and application.

  3. Basic understanding of power invertors for e-machine operation

  4. Experience with Bench or HIL testing of a hardware component testing and validation

Additional Knowledge

  1. Energy storage system operational limitation and optimization

  2. Electric machine operation and optimization for different usage profiles
