PDS is seeking a Engineering Contractor 3 for an open positions in Savannah, GA.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, and maintains system testplans and procedures.
Provides structured testing and quality assurance for multiple software projects designed for various platforms, including embedded environments, mobile devices, and PCs. Delivers organized test reports after test cycles.
Advances system test bench capabilities by working with the Software Lead to identify areas that would benefit most from automation, simulation, etc. and then is responsible for implementation of the changes
Coordinates scheduling and use of the system test bench, which is used for software development, system support/debugging, and for system test / quality assurance.
Maintains a current knowledge of developments, both process and technical, related to software testing / QA in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness.
Interfaces with other groups and suppliers as needed during design/development and troubleshooting.
Works within a team environment, promoting cohesiveness and continuous improvement.
- Assists with the planning, coordination, performance of design, analysis and liaison engineering supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services
Contributes to planning, developing and coordinating of important engineering projects .
Provides specialized technical assistance to team members .
Uses advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems .
Determines and develops own approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives .
Works under limited supervision; work should only be required. to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives .
Acts as liaison with representatives outside of the assigned group/area .
Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements .
Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product .
Perform other duties as assigned.
Self-motivated and able to work under limited supervision.
Experience testing/approving software in embedded software environments.
(Preferred) Proficiency using a high-level language, such as C++, C#, or Java, to develop PC applications.
Proficiency with scripts and one or more scripting languages.
Ethernet/Wi-Fi networking experience a plus.
Experience with one or more of the following a plus: ZigBee Mesh Network (IEEE 802.15.4), wiring diagrams, Linux, Android development, iOS development, network programming (TCP/IP, UDP, sockets, etc.), ARINC-429.
(Preferred) Understanding of revision control and the software development process.
BS in Computer Science/Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
5 ys in specific technical discipline or 10 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters, 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred
