PDS Tech Inc Material Control Spec I in Savannah, Georgia

PDS Tech is seeking a Material Control Spec I for an open position in Savannah, GA.

Position Purpose:

  • Under moderate supervision, responsible for a variety of activities within the material control function in support of manufacturing. Maintain accuracy of materials and data entry.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interpret route cards and/or material request forms to ensure accurate movement of materials.

  • Ensure request is handles for replacement material such as scrap, DMT or miscellaneous issues.

  • Move materials to the correct location through inventory transactions using appropriate systems.

  • Responsible for tracking of parts requested to support Manufacturing schedules.

  • Operate material handling equipment and company vehicles as required.

  • Responsible for assigned equipment.

  • Work with others as a team on dispatching functions.

  • Complies with all company safety regulations.

  • Additional Functions:

  • Ensure housekeeping in work area and comply with all company safety regulations. .

  • Learn and apply Lean concepts within functional responsibilities. Supports a continuous improvement culture including lean principles, sustainability initiatives, ergonomic improvements, safety, and cross functional teams. .

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 1 year related expediting and/or material handling experience; or completion of Technical Certificate in warehouse distribution; and/or successful completion in current year youth apprenticeship program sponsored by GAC, in area of expertise.

  • Valid Driver’s License required.

Unique Skills:

  • Logistics fundamentals

  • Material Handling

  • Understanding of processes for material storage

Other Requirements:

  • Able to pass math and reading assessment.

  • Capable of working in an automated system.

  • Demonstrate experience in materials coordination.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
