PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in Tewksbury, MA

Job description

  • Work closely with the Sourcing/Purchasing teams to select, qualify and develop suppliers by performing initial and periodic follow-up assessments/audits and assess suppliers against robust qualification requirements

  • Maintain and report relevant supplier performance metrics to demonstrate the efficiency of the supplier quality process and management of potential risks.

  • Ensure the Supplier Quality function operates according to procedures and provides direction to other departments.

  • Review and approves supplier records: contracts, quality plans, change requests, CAPAs, NCRs, verification and validation protocols and reports.

  • Act as Lead Auditor during supplier audits.

  • Manage FAI (First Article Inspection) Process to ensure compliance to company requirements.

  • Participate in design changes related to supplier provided materials.

  • Drive continuous improvement with procedures, policies and quality assurance methodologies including but not limited to: new material qualification, end of life materials/components, product development process, supplier requests for material changes and sustaining engineering.

  • Support the suppliers to ensure that products and processes align with the relevant requirements.

  • Support Quality Management Team in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system for ISO 9001:2015.

  • Participate in the New Product Introduction process to assist with validation and test of critical components.

  • Participate in PPI (Practical Process Improvement) and projects to support achievement of business metrics to drive improvement of Quality within the client but also at our key suppliers.

  • Perform all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics and the 4-I values

  • Ability to travel up to 25% on an annual basis

Education

  • Bachelors Degree required in Engineering Field

  • Electrical (Preferred)

Experience Required

  • In-circuit Testing (ICT) experience

  • PCBA manufacturing knowledge

  • Understanding of ISO/QSRs and the ability to apply the knowledge to the business and ensure compliance of regulations.

  • 2 years of ISO9001:2015 experience

  • Effective problem-solving skills

  • Must be an excellent teammate with strong interpersonal skills.

Experience Preferred

  • ISO auditor training and certification preferred.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certified a plus.

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer a plus
