POSITION SUMMARY
An Avionics Technician II is responsible for advanced - intermediate aircraft avionics installation , maintenance, updates, and modifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts advanced - intermediate avionics installations and maintenance on FAR Part 23- certified normal, utility, acrobatic, and commuter category airplanes IAW applicable and current federal statutes, industry guidelines, and manufacturers' procedures .
Conducts advanced - intermediate avionics installations and maintenance on FAR Part 25- certified transport category airplanes IAW applicable and current federal statutes, industry guidelines, and manufacturers' procedures .
Conducts advanced - intermediate avionics installations and maintenance on FAR Part 27- certified normal category rotorcraft IAW applicable and current federal statutes, industry guidelines, and manufacturers' procedures.
Conducts advanced - intermediate avionics installations and maintenance on FAR Part 29- certified transport category rotorcraft IAW applicable and current federal statutes, industry guidelines, and manufacturers' procedures.
Performs avionics installations and maintenance on aircraft flight data, navigation , and communication systems, as required .
Performs minor sheet metal manufacture and fabrication for replacement and new parts IAW applicable and current federal statutes and industry guidelines.
Supports development of aircraft modifications IAW applicable and current federal statutes, industry guidelines, and manufacturers' procedures .
Writes and endorses aircraft logbook entries for work completed.
Follows applicable OSHA standards and regulations for personnel safety.
United States Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
Must have System Installation experience
High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) diploma
FAR Part 145 Repair Station Repairman Certification in avionics systems
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) with Inspection Authorization (IA) certification desired
A minimum of 5 years of aircraft avionics installations and maintenance experience
An Associate's Degree in a related field may be substituted for 1 years' experience
Effective English communication skills, both written and oral
Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently or as part of a team
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed
Pass regularly scheduled and no-not ice substance abuse testing required by federal law
Military experience preferred
