Quality Inspector – Automotive

Job Description:

  • Learn vehicle standards.

  • Have a constant awareness of issues relevant to product safety.

  • Recognize vehicle parts by name.

  • Perform visual inspection of vehicle during Takt time by following the SMP or PDA.

  • Document defect found during inspection with legible writing and correct spelling on rider sheet and in PLUS system.

  • Learn the basic functions of PDA Usage:

  • Turn PDA off/on

  • Reboot PDA

  • Change batter

  • Select correct program

  • Button functions

  • Learn PLUS client functions:

  • Part recognition in system and location

  • Data entry

  • Recognize fault origin

  • Perform gap and flushness gauging:

  • Selection of proper gauge

  • Proper placement of gauge

  • Ability to read gauge results

  • Ability to make decision on whether gap/flushness is good/bad

Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED.

  • Valid Driver License.

  • 1-3 Years of manufacturing experience.

  • 1 Year of Quality inspection experience with automotive environment desired.

  • Must abide by dress with within MBUSI.

  • Must be able to work A Shift (6:15am - 3pm) , B Shift (2:27pm - 10:45pm or 6pm - 3am), or C Shift (9:39pm - 6:15am) with the possibility of a rotating schedule.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be willing to stand on feet for all hours of shift.

  • Must be willing walk frequently during shift.

  • Must constantly bend, stoop, kneel, and crawl in, around, or under vehicles.

  • Must frequently communicates defects to MBUSI and/or MB Tech personnel.

  • Must be able to effectively detect defects in, around, or under vehicle.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds alone, may be asked to lift 50 pounds (with team lift) occasionally.
