Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include responding to emergency RT SCADA requests from operations, Work Order requests from field technicians, communication technicians, and other client stakeholders as part of a conversion from RT SCADA to Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). Provides technical expertise and solutions to support the device building, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of RT SCADA systems for the client’s distribution network.
Core Duties
Device building and mapping of various analog, status, calc, virtual, amp, analog points, history, settings and controls
Resolves problems of limited scope within SCADA procedural guidelines in support of new device installation, upgrades, and replacements
Coordination with field technicians, automation engineers, communication technicians, ADMS SCADA Specialists, project, program, and SCADA Managers to support the successful testing and release of devices
Seeks assistance from the supervisors or more senior employees on unusual or more difficult problems
Training will be provided for client specific systems
Education/experience
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 7 years of distribution engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.OR
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related Engineering Technology degree from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 7 years of distribution engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.OR
Master Degree in Engineering and 6 years of distribution engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
Expert knowledge of electrical distribution power flow is required.
Strong knowledge of overhead and underground construction methods and distribution system equipment. Experience with RT SCADA-Supervisory Control, or related, 5-20 years
Current and active California PE license desired
Good written and verbal communication skills and an ability to develop positive relationships with vendors and clients
Experience working with RT SCADA systems, RTUs, Line-Reclosers, Capacitor Banks, Fusesavers, Pad Mounted Interrupters, Switches, Circuit Breakers, Transformer Banks, Relays, etc. for devices on Distribution Lines and within Distribution Substations
Knowledge of various communication paths such as digi or radio, TCP End Paths, serial / ethernet technology, DNP3 protocols, etc.
Familiarity working with Circuit Map Change Sheets, Points Lists, Site Surveys, and other technical documentation needed to support device testing and commissioning
Ability to use MS Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, MS Server, and other Windows programs is required
W-2 position only, NO C2C or 1099
Pay Details: $75.00 to $100.00 per hour
