Packer

Contract to Hire: (90 Day)

Location: Wentzville

Hours: M-F (8 to 5)

General Description:

The Packer’s primary role is to prepare finished products for packaging and shipment. Packers must reconcile outgoing shipments against packing slips to verify correct products and quantities and must ensure product is adequately protected for transportation. Duties may also include other material handling responsibilities such as breaking down incoming shipments, picking items from inventory for production, or cycle counting.

Role Relationships:

Manager: Production Supervisor

MoR (Manager Once Removed): Production Manager

Immediate Subordinates: None

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• 1-2 years warehouse experience

• Forklift experience

Competencies

• Proficient math and reading skills

• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly

• High attention to detail and self-motivation skills

Abilities

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks

• Ability to stand and move for extended periods of time

Responsibilities:

• Verifies correct product and quantities against packing slips

• Ensures product is adequately protected for transportation while minimizing packaging waste

• Skillfully packages product into boxes and/or palletizes outgoing shipments

• Assists in receiving of product, inventory storage, material handling and consolidation

• Assists in picking material for production orders

• Assists in inventory cycle counting
