PDS Tech, Inc is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, in York, PA.
Seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Supply Chain liaison for its M109 Artillery Vehicle program. This position is located in York, PA supporting issues that arise between supply chain and design engineering.
This position will interact with all of the design leads and the supply chain team to resolve issues.
Knowledge of welding, machining, forging, casting and electrical systems is required. Working knowledge of armor aluminum and armor steel is a plus along with any ballistic requirements is a plus.
This position will require a good knowledge of current manufacturing processes along with the ability to work with the materials engineering team to develop solutions of part issues.
Use of CREO modeling or an equivalent CAD package is helpful, being able to keep large spreadsheets along with coordinating daily meetings with the production liaison lead is required.
This individual will need to coordinate efforts with the integration team to ensure that all changes are compatible with the system engineering requirements and that the solutions can be integrated into the current design.
Ensures technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that customer and company technical, system, performance, and quality requirements are met.
Review current engineering design requirement, analysis issue with vendor, establish a solution which meets the design intent while being able to integrate the solution into the current design and assure that all system requirements are met. Ensuring all quality requirements are met, the project stays on schedule and all performance requirements are met.
Applies basic engineering design and/or analytical theory, principles, techniques, and practices to a limited portion of a technical project.
Develops and writes technical documentation, makes revisions to existing documentation for review with the design engineering team, and provides input to technical to the design and system engineering team.
Performs basic technical analysis, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results.
Analyzes and interprets design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications and product requirements.
Acquires and maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering discipline(s), industry practices, trends, and applications.
Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety policies and rules
Duties include providing Engineering Support to Items in Production (ESIP) for: Transition of new design to production, resolving issues encountered in the build process. Investigation and root-cause analysis of design issues arising during production and developing the associated change documentation to resolve design issue.
Work closely with a team of design engineers and other specialty engineers to resolve design issues that span such areas as structures, ballistics, mechanical, and logistics.
Prepare variances or provide technical support to the engineering team to prepare variance if necessary.

Skills/ Experience Required :
A good working knowledge of current manufacturing processes in welding, forging, casting and machining
A good working knowledge of electrical design and cabling.
Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines.
Ability to create/maintain large Excel spreadsheets.
Ability to solve basic technical design and development problems.
Ability to plan and organize engineering meetings to review issues with engineering, quality and report back to theproduction liaison lead
Demonstrated self-starter, who requires minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
4+ years experience required.
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Skills Preferred :
Proven technical troubleshooting skills
Strong organizational skills and proven ability to proactively coordinate multiple entities to achieve final deliverable.
Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards.
Familiarity with CREO.
Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing ASME Y14.5-2009
5+ years’ experience and BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
